In a recent episode of the podcast The Run-Through with Vogue, Aimee said that she recently met some women in an elevator who “do Botox.” She explained, “We were talking about how it’s obvious I haven’t had it because of how expressive my head is, and my eyebrows.”
“I’m very anti-Botox. People can do whatever the hell they want, but for myself, a lot of my career relies on these facial expressions. I can’t start freezing my face. It needs to move,” she continued.
“But sometimes it moves too much. Sometimes I watch things back and I go, ‘Jesus, I wasn’t aware that I was using my face that much in that moment,'” the 31-year-old added.
“A lot of people, they do that very still acting and everything’s kind of mumbled and they look really, like, hot and cool,” she noted. “I don’t think I’ll ever play a part that has a poker face because I can’t do it. Even when I think I’m doing it, I’m not doing it.”
Aimee has further called keeping her natural teeth, rather than getting veneers, “rebellious.” The attention does come with some drawbacks, as Aimee recently expressed that she’d prefer to talk about her character: “I understand what it represents. People feel more confident about their imperfections. It does feel a bit weird that the thing I got bullied for is now the thing that everyone’s, like, ‘woo!’”
